2019. AFRICAN GROUP MASHAV INTERACTION WITH AFRICA

15th December 2019.

9 African nations, 20 professionals together in a Mashav training titled, Agribusiness for Inclusive & Sustainable Development, in partnership with the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

This is key for the continent of Africa in fulfilling Africas agenda for 2063, where Agriculture for sustainable development is a key goal.

 

Regional Course - Rural Women Empowerment.

Earlier both MASHAV and UNIDO cooperated in empowering women under the course title ‘Agribusiness: A Tool for the Empowerment of Rural Women’ which brought together several professionals from different African countries.

The course addressed gender equality and the empowerment of women, as well as economic and social development strategies in rural areas.

Great strides are being made on empowering women in Africa and as such growing Israel Africa relations, a great asset for Africa.

NOVEMBER 2019 - UGANDA

Delegation from Uganda's education ministry undertook a course in Education Innovation and were led by Rosemary Nansubuga Seninde the State Minister for Primary Education in Uganda.

The program was organized in partnership with the Embassy of Israel in Kenya. 

 

SEPTEMBER 2019 - ETHIOPIA

Delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture from Ethiopia participated were in Israel for a study tour organized by Mashav Agricultural Training Centre another milestone in empowering Africa.Ethiopia with help from Israel and the USA is spearheading SHP (Smallholder Horticulture Project) whose aim is-

1. Increase the income of small scale farmers.

2. Access to new domestic and export markets

3. Strengthen the horticultural sector.

 

APRIL 2019 - SENEGAL

30th April 2019

In partnership with Watu Digital Lab in Senegal the Embassy of Israel launched a special program for potential entrepreneur’s and the content of the program is professional training by Israeli experts and practical tools to help them grow in skills. Israel is a global leader in innovation, entrepreneurship and a startup giant, this will be a great platform for them to learn and be empowered in matters entrepreneurship.

Watu Digital lab is a leading consultancy in Senegal, in matters ICT keen on projects that bring sustainable development in Africa. We hope for more encouraging partnerships for Israel in West Africa.

 

 

APRIL 2019 - RWANDA

9th April 2019.

Rwanda is on an upward trend and the partnership with Israel is at the epicenter of achieving the Rwanda Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy II - a program that outlines Rwanda's medium term objectives and financial allocation which are part of fulfilling the long term objectives for 2020. 

Part of this was an MOU that was signed between a powerful delegation of The Minister of Agriculture in Rwanda Gerardine Mukeshiman, Mashav Head, Amb. Gil Haskel , Israeli's Director General of the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs and the New Israeli Ambassador to Rwanda, Amb. Ron Adam.

Among the great fruits of the relationship between Israel and Rwanda is the establishment of the Rwanda Horticultural Centre of Excellence and the MOU is a clear pronouncement of the intention to faithfully and consistently continue with future cooperation. Notably so is the fact that the cooperation more so Agricultural will play a key role in poverty reduction and inclusivity for all which in turn achieve the Rwanda Economic Poverty Reduction Strategy. We all win, Israel wins and so does Africa. 

 

 

 

APRIL 2019 - TANZANIA

2nd April 2019

Amb Gil Haskel, Former Israeli Ambassador to Kenya who is now Heading Mashav, on 2nd April 2019 handed over the donation of a complete ICU unit to Benjamin Mkapa Hospital in Dodoma in Tanzania.

This is in fulfillment of the MOU signed between the Tanzanian Ministry of Health and Mashav where Mashav was tasked with building the unit inside the Hospital campus and providing technical and professional training for those handling the equipment in Tanzania.

Israel's commitment to the development of Africa is evident and as a continent we are grateful for the great relationship between Israel and African nations.
